One of the most popular messaging platforms WhatsApp went down this morning at aprox 08:00 BST, the platform which is owned by Meta.
There was over 12,000 reports that had been posted within 30 minutes on the service status Down Detector. This is also accompanied by thousands complaining over social media platforms.
WhatsApp currently have about two billion global active users. The outage is being reported as one of the biggest in recent history.
A spokesperson for Meta said “We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible.”
