Hotel company Holiday Inn has been targeted by a cyber attack this week. People trying to
book rooms have been unable to do so and have found it difficult to get any support from the
company.

It is believed it was a ransomware attack, although the company has not confirmed this.
Reports have said that there has been no leak of users personal data, but that they are
working on getting systems back up and running.

A similar attack on a Holiday Inn in Istanbul happened last month, which resulted in data
being stolen from the company.

It is evident that cyber-attacks have been on the increase since the invasion of Ukraine by
Russia. Companies are working harder and harder to try to stop these attacks from
happening.
