Just last month the NHS 111 service was the victim of a major cyber attack. The attack affected patient referral systems en masse, including ambulances and emergency prescription systems all across the UK. Other vital systems were quickly isolated from those that were affected, meaning that the effects of the attack were kept to a minimum.
It is believed it was a ransomware attack where the attacker encrypts vital data and then demands a ransom in order for the data to be decrypted again. Fortunately the problem was resolved quite quickly and the service was returned to normal.
Netlink Technology work with their clients to help prevent these attacks as much as possible. Security Systems are put in place and actively monitored, simulation and training exercises are offered to your team, and we help you put together a business continuity plan, to ensure you are as prepared as possible, and reduce the risk to your business.
